Our Mendez Partnership
Our adoption of Irene K Mendez Elementary School has begun! Thirty Volunteers from FPC have been trained on the Mendez Campus. Eighteen of these folk are Mentor/Tutors and have been assigned a student, with whom they meet weekly. The remaining twelve are involved in regular volunteer activities such as:
(1) Serving food and refreshments and conducting raffles at PTO functions to encourage parental involvement
(2) Assisting Teachers in the preparation of Classroom materials
(3) Assisting in the Library
(4) Serving as Speakers at Career and Veterans Days
(5) Assisting the School Nurse
(6) Assisting in the Kindergarten Classes
(7) Assisting in Special Education Classes
(8) Assisting in PE Classes
(9) Serving as Greeters at School wide events
(10) Serving as Chaperones on Class Field trips
(11) Conducting Monthly Birthday Celebrations
(12) Conducting Special Lunches for new students
And all in our church are involved in supporting this Defining Mission through regular prayer!
